I am working on a WB skin, and I have all the colors set the way I want them. The skins colors display correctly in skin studio, but once I apply the skin, some weird colors show up. For instance: the window boarders show up yellow, yet the color I selected in SS was black. And the info message background shows up green, and I did not select green for that . I have never had this problem before, and it's driving me nuts! I dl'd the latest SS on 10/2 (after I had already started the skin), but I don't think that has anything to do with it. Im using the latset version of WB (4.10 7/18/03). I have had the same monitor for quite some time now, and the same res. Can anyone help shed some light on this?

I had the same problem, except i'm working on a grey color scheme, and when I was testing it out, the window color was bright yellow after I updated SS 3.96.003, and some skins got fried(copperdeck turned purple), to put it mildly, so I reinstalled 3.96.002 and had to start from scratch I'd say rollback the install of SS and you should be good

Thanks bones. So your'e saying you think the problem is the new SS version? Ive been playing around in SS to try to figure out the prob. and things are just getting weirder and weirder. Now all my window backs are yellow.

I thought so, but I just started again with the same skin, and I'm almost there and testing it out, now I got olive green backgrounds It's gotta be the new version, it's happened twice to me now, at this rate I'm never gonna get this skin done

ps. I don't really care for olive green that much

crissy, you need to go into the colors section and uncheck everything, use the minus button, hit refresh, then check them again, use the + button, then selct color and most of the colors will come back to normal. Do a couple of settings at a time and you will see what i'm talking about, got everything back to normal, except for tooltip background, seems to be a conflict in the colors panel

How did you go back to the old versionof SS? Did you have it archived on your computer? or is there a way to dl it again? This skin is about 80% done and I just scream if I have to start all over again..

BTW, I had already tried unchecking all the colors and then rechecking again, and that didnt work. Gee, this could be reported as a bug in SS. I have switched versions while in the midst of making a skin in the past and I'v never had this problem before this. It defenitly has to do with the newest version. Again,(call me stupid) but how can I revert back to the last version?
on Oct 05, 2003
good question how do you revert back any of the software just in case..

Sigh... All Progams arrow background - set it to the same colour as the start menu (76,76,76) so it doesn't show, however, it's olive green. No amount of fiddling will change it.

Looks like a serious SS bug we got here

Cured. I have Powerquest Drive Image and the last image i took 10/09/03 had version 3.96 build 754. Restored that and edited the skin - colour has returned to the dark grey it was supposed to.

This confirms it's the latest release of SS which is the problem.

Lucky you Fuzzy Logic. Im glad you were able to restore your last version of SS. But I think you meant to say 9/9/03 not 10/9/03. (as 10/9 hasn't come yet ) I unfortunatly do not have such a program. I dont want to do a full system restore unless I absolutly have to. Anyone now how to revert back to the last version of SS without doing a full system restore?

10/9 (10th Sept) - I use the normal date format rather than the foreign version

Dunno how to revert back to earlier versions of stuff. Guess you have to archive each time so you have a full list to go back to There is a setting under 'Tools' for auto archiving before updating. Suppose that's a lesson to learn too late.

I had it archived on my computer, I just went to software tab on SDC, right clicked SS, and hit restore existing and all versions of everything I downloaded are there Thank god for backups. You have to have SDC set to archive all before updating any program though.

Maybe one of the higher ups will take note on this problem and let someone know about this!
