In Oz, 'SMP' stands for 'Suck More Piss'....where 'piss' is slang for 'beer' or 'grog'.
Sort of a high-society translation of 'have another drink'....

Just wondering. .How many here using this prog have SMPs anyhow? I have a AMD and only the newest ones can do dual.
Intel was always able to work in Paraell, man I can't spell, I feel wasted, I"m just tired.
Update news.. AMD is kicking Intel's ( V ) on processors.. Their 1.8ghz can kill intel's 2Ghz.. PC World did a benchmark test.
*Big smile* ouch it hurts.
But my machine has a crapy 700mhz, I feel behind in the tech hardware world
anybody want to donate?

But guys, Brad said there were problems with SMP machines, but didn't say how serious. Even if WB is still on beta, even if only one person out of 1000 has a SMP machine, if WP4 does actual damage to the machine, then yeah, Stardock would rather wait before releasing it, ya know.
I'm sure Brad is just as impatient to release it as we are to try it, so if he needs to fix some things it's because they gotta get fixed.

correct me if im wrong, but were not talking about the final version, this is a alpha/beta. You test software and you run risks, its that simple. Beta software is not a demo, people did the same thing with AC2. They ran the beta, expected it to be perfect, and were seriously let down. Now theyve fallen far below expected sales and everyother company working on a mmorpg has learned the lesson at Turbines sacrifice, just check the swg boards. Perhaps thats why it will only be availble on OD ntil final.
Im in no way criticizing their release schedule, just the PR. It wouldve been better had he said nothing, its not the first time we were given a time frame, the last one was wrong. I'm glad theyre taking their time, its better for everyone, I just dont enjoy having my hopes raised and then dashed
in the end, its my fault, but I can still whine

I just don't see how WB4 could actually do any permanent damage to an SMP machine.... and as I was reading the post's I fealt dumb too... thanks for clearing up what it meant kthxbye I was getting scared... give it to us... and if people with smp machines have problems they can post what is happening to them and stardok can read that...
and they will probably find the problem much quicker
I just hope the problem isn't with that new window painting technology... smart paint??? is that right???? that would be terrible... cause I am looking forward to that as well as all of the new parts of the UI that are skinned...

da_zman20...when working with an OS's GUI, or its shell, it pays to 'get it right' just in case the application of the GUI mods makes the OS inoperable.
I once used a module for LiteSTEP that could set your screen res and refresh-rate for you and cleverly set mine to a level way beyond the capacity of the monitor.
It's quite difficult to run an OS when the screen is entirely BLACK.
Needless to say, I refrain from using that module in any of my uploads because some unsuspecting recipient could be totally lost and end up re-formatting.
It DOES happen.
Releasing a dodgey pre-alpha of WinAMP is hardly likely to do much more than screw up associations to mp3's, etc....but the OS will still be accessible.
In the 'good old days' of shell replacements, many a time a shell or a theme itself would frag someone's comp to the point of abject frustration...although if they had half a brain they'd have figured a solution....

Huh, here in the UK SMP = Statutory Maternity Pay...
So who wants two processors, I find the one quite enough

Using the Oz translation, I believe that WB4 will go up once everyone at Stardock gets drunk.
