Hey, jews also celebrate Easter. As a matter of fact, Jesus celebrated Easter himself. My question: did he actually happen to resurect on the extact day the jews celebrate Easter or is the Chistian Easter different than the Jewish Easter?

Anyway, the Chistian religion has a history of "recycling" pagan holidays and pagan gods. That's part of the marketing strategies to get the different people of the World to convert.

Paxx, Jews celebrate Passover which is a whole different thing than Easter. It is not on the same day as Easter. See here for info: http://www.holidays.net/passover/

The Christian church holiday Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, which Jews do not celebrate.

That looks odd. I meant Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus. It's a church holiday which Jews do not observe since they are are not Christians.

The previous posts are quite correct. Jewish people do not celebrate Easter.
However, most religions do have a celebration of rebirth and renewal in the Springtime.
Personally, I have no problem with someone wishing me a Happy Easter and I wish all my friends here a happy holiday (whichever one they celebrate.)
Peace.

Must be a language thing then.

In French:
Passover = Pâques
Easter = Pâques

So, let'S rephrase my question: is Passover on the same day as Easter?
on Apr 21, 2003
No.

paxx, looked it up and here's what I found.

Passover is the 8 day observance commemorating the freedom and exodus of the Israelites (Jewish slaves) from Egypt during the reign of the Pharaoh Ramses II.
A time of family gatherings and lavish meals called Seders, the story of Passover is retold through the reading of the Haggadah. With its special foods, songs, and customs, the Seder is the focal point of the Passover celebration. Passover begins on the 15th day of the Jewish month of Nissan. As the Jewish day begins at sundown the night before, for the year 2003, the first night of Passover will be April 16th.

Very interesting, really did not know. Internet is a wonderful thing.
